Creating a Google Plus Business Page

Google PlusAny small business knows the importance of marketing and making sure that your brand is seen and heard by multiple audiences. Social media is one such outlet that provides a great service to increase your presence online and improve visibility on location based searches. That is why Google+ is a great avenue for you to consider. When you create a business listing, you are enabling your business to connect and share with current and new customers.

So how does it work? Google+ information will show up in the search results on Google.com. Information that you post such as videos, pictures, and recent posts will show up across Google creating a great boost in visibility when your customers are searching for you.

It’s easy to create a Google+ page and doesn’t take a lot of time, so why not give it a shot? Here’s what you need to do:

  • Go to the Create a Google+ Page Link to get started. You'll first need to make sure your profile doesn't already exists. It may have been automatically created, but not claimed. After searching, if it does not exist, you can click to create a new business by entering your business address.
  • You will want to select Storefront, Service Area, or Brand.
  • Include a link to your website.
  • Upload your logo or photos of your business. Remember, you may need to crop photos to fit within Google’s size requirements.
  • This listing is your business commercial so to speak, so include as much pertinent content as you can. It’s a smart idea to include the basic information and then go through and add in details where needed.
  • Double check to make sure the information you post (address, phone number, keywords, etc.) are exactly the same as on your website.

You now have a Google+ page. See, that was easy! Just remember, make sure to  update your page as needed when any business changes occur. Congratulations on taking one more step to help improve your business brand and draw more customers in your direction.
